Les enfants et la Shoah (Fr/en)...

La réalisation d’un film de long métrage (90 min), par des jeunes étudiants et des professeurs, permettra de créer un nouvel outil pédagogique original et gratuit destiné à un jeune public, de 9 à 15 ans. Ce film aidera les professeurs des écoles, les professeurs d’histoire, d’éducation civique et de français, à enseigner l’histoire contemporaine de l’Europe. La grande expérience de l’équipe pédagogique et sa reconnaissance européenne dans 10 pays rendra possible les interviews de personnalités de différents pays, qui pourront témoigner pour les jeunes de leurs activités dans l’histoire européenne. Notre collaboration avec des historiens spécialistes et reconnus donnera une garantie scientifique au film. Le travail sur les images, photographiques et cinématographiques avec des Centres d’archives très importants permettra aussi une connaissance et une réflexion critique des images qui ont marqué l’histoire.


La réussite d’un tel projet nécessite que les élèves travaillent toute l’année sur le projet, filment les lieux historiques et rencontrent des personnalités dans leur pays. L’équipe enseignante corrigera à l’aide de ses partenaires spécialistes la version définitive du film et ajoutera à ce film principal plusieurs autres films courts sur un DVD. Ces films et le site Internet Réalisons l’Europe auront pour but de mieux enseigner cette période fondamentale de l’histoire contemporaine pour développer la citoyenneté européenne des jeunes.


L’un des objectifs du Collège à travers ce projet pédagogique pilote et ambitieux est de prouver que la construction européenne, véritable « révolution » d’après Elie Barnavi, est aussi une question d’éducation et d’ouverture culturelle.


L’ambition pour ce film est qu’il devienne un outil pédagogique à présenter officiellement pour la commémoration des 70 ans de la rafle du Vel d’hiv, choisie comme la date officielle pour rappeler les responsabilités de la Shoah en France et se souvenir de ses victimes.

The making of a long feature movie (90 min), by young students and professors, will make it possible to create a new, original and free pedagogical tool for the youth, from 9 to 15. This movie will help primary school teachers, history teachers, civil education and French teachers to teach European contemporary history. The great experience of the pedagogical team and its widely aknowleged skills in ten European countries will make it possible to interview historical figures from different countries. They will bring about to the youth the story of their roles and activities in the making of European history. Our partnership with specialized and recognized historians will give a scientific ground to the movie. Working on photographic and cinematographic pictures with very important archive centers will also bring about a knowledge and a critical reflexion on the images which have made our history. 


The success of such a project requires that the students work all year long on it, film the important historical places and meet personnalities in their own country. The team of teachers and its professional partners will put the last touch to the final cut of the movie and add to this main film several other short movies on a DVD. These films and the web site Réalisons l’Europe will aim at a better teaching of this fundamental period of contemporary history and eventually at the creation of a better sense of European citizenship for the youth.
One of the goals of the school through this experimental and ambitious project is to prove that the making of Europe, a true “revolution” according to Elie Barnavi, is also a matter of education and cultural curiosity. 


Our ambition is to make out of this movie a pedagogical tool to be officially presented at the occasion of the commemoration of the seventieth anniversary of the Vel d'Hiv rapt, chosen as the official date to remind us of the French State responsabilities in organizing the Shoah and to remember the fate of its victims.
